Entrepreneurship degrees at the associate level typically take two years to complete if attending full-time. The goal of associate's degrees is to teach students the principles necessary to start and manage small businesses. Associate programs are generally 90 credits and include general education requirements such as English, Math, Speech, Humanities, Social Sciences, and core courses.Whether seeking an associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree in Entrepreneurship there is usually internship/externship components of the program. Internships are aligned with the student's main area of interest and are generally a quarter or semester in length.

Bachelor's degrees in Entrepreneurship typically take four years to complete including general education. Many schools require students to be at junior standing and have completed business core courses before admittance into the major. Core courses include Finance, Small Business Management, Economics, Business Law, Marketing, and Accounting. A major component of most bachelor degree Entrepreneurship programs includes business plan development and writing. Students are taught how to write a successful business plan in order to receive funding for their potential businesses. Networking is also taught as students learn the value of making strategic business relationships.
